Everyone attending the AHE conference has a strong interest in assessment: some are long established and widely published experts, while others are relatively new to the field. This Masterclass is aimed at the latter group, who have plenty to say, but may be unsure about how and where to say it.

In this session we will offer participants opportunities to:

  • Review the different kinds of publications outlets available to assessment scholars including books, book chapters, journal articles and less formal works;
  • Decide which kinds of publications are best suited to your professional needs;
  • Considers the joys and perils of co-authoring by comparison with single authoring;
  • Discuss how to choose which journals to target for your early publications;
  • Consider how to maximise your potential success in achieving publications.

This session is specifically targeted towards the needs of early publishing career authors, or those who are widely published in their own disciplines, but less around assessment per se, as well as more experienced authors who might want to refresh your thinking and practice.
