AHE Seminar Day 2016

The executive committee of the International Assessment in Higher Education (AHE) biennial conference is delighted to announce that a one day seminar will be held Thursday 30th June 2016 from 09.30am to 4.00pm Manchester,UK.

This one-day seminar aims to debate efforts to drive assessment change beyond the individual and course level towards transformation at the institutional, faculty or departmental level.   It is designed to be a very interactive and informative day drawing on and debating multiple examples of assessment change.

Transforming Assessment and Feedback in Higher Education on a wider scale: The challenge of change at institutional level

Sue 2013 New PicThe seminar began with a keynote by Professor Sue Bloxham which explored:

‘Central challenges in transforming assessment at departmental and institutional level’.

The keynote lecture was followed by a range of parallel sessions which debated a series of 10 minute presentations.  The presentations were accompanied by written material providing delegates with further details of the initiative.  A pre-lunch session used our successful ‘nano’ (3 minute) presentation method to introduce delegates to other assessment change projects.  Lunch provided an opportunity to find out more from these presenters.

This seminar event was designed to enable sharing of research-informed practice, discussion and networking. Delegates came away from this event with lots of knowledge and ideas about developing assessment enhancement beyond the course level, drawing on experiences in 40 higher education institutions.
